We are making a small adjustment to our afterschool drive line pick-up procedure. We will be coning off the pick-up area at the north-east corner of the gym (as pictured) until 3:20p. This will help with the safety of the scholars who use of the field during 4th period.
If you are there early to dismiss a scholar before 3:30p, please pull around the cones so you can drive through. If there are any cars parked beyond the cones, we will kindly ask them to exit and drive back around.
We will begin this new process starting Monday, January 25th.
HA Maricopa Administration
If a scholar (or member of their household) is sick and experiencing symptoms that might be COVID-related, DO NOT bring any of your scholars to school.
If a scholar (or a member of their household) is isolated or quarantined, is awaiting test results, has tested positive, or has been exposed to another individual that has tested positive for COVID, please keep your scholar(s) home until the COVID case has cleared.
If you need to sign out your scholar, send only a healthy individual to do so. Please do not come in the building with symptoms yourself.
We have prepared a Google Form to help families communicate and understand current health protocols. That form is available here: https://bit.ly/35fkQE7. Please review and fill out the form and notify the Attendance Clerk, Mrs. Mimi Adams, of the absence. It is also recommended that your scholar communicate with each of their instructors. The instructors can make arrangements for work via Google Classroom during that absence.
Scholars must not come to school if they exhibit ANY of the following symptoms:
● fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, or chills
● shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
● muscle aches
● sore throat
● congestion or runny nose
● new loss of taste or smell

Course fees for all SECOND SEMESTER classes have been assessed and are now PAST DUE. Scholars with balances will be dropped from all fee-bearing classes starting Monday and will not be enrolled back in for the remainder of the semester.
As a reminder, our course FEES ARE FOR THE CLASS, NOT THE SPORT. Even if your scholar is not playing on a competitive team, you are still responsible for paying the course fee as is listed on the course request form completed at orientation.
You will receive an invoice for each fee-bearing course your scholar has for 2nd semester. HAVE A CREDIT? If you have a credit on your account, you will go to myschoolbucks.com then select school store > browse all items > pay with existing account credit and complete the form.

As we prepare for re-enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year, we anticipate a continuation of increased enrollment, with many new families eager for their scholar to benefit from the quality academic environment at Heritage Academy – Maricopa Campus.
EXISTING SCHOLARS – As an existing scholar, you are extended the opportunity to reserve your space for next year. Please complete this RE-ENROLLMENT FORM if you haven’t already (most of have you have completed this already). Scholars can be dropped off starting at 7:30 am and need to be picked up after school by 4:00 pm!
The front office closes at 4:00 pm. Scholars will not be permitted in the building after this time without a teacher and will need to wait in the driveline area for their parents, and may not wait in the front office.
We would also like to remind families that Heritage Academy has a strict Tardy Policy.
TARDY POLICY: If you scholar is tardy more than 3 times to school, they will be pulled into a “sweep,” (similar to a detention) for the remainder of 1st period, and every tardy after. They simply are not allowed to interrupt their first hour class coming in late. Parents will be called on the scholar’s 5th tardy, and a meeting will be scheduled at their 7th tardy.
Why does being on time matter? At Heritage, we want all of our scholars to learn traits that will help them be successful in their lives.

- ANTICIPATE DELAYS– Add 25% of your travel time to your commute for traffic, gas, emergencies, etc.

Heroes Athletics Update
Our J.H and H.S wrestling teams opened their season last week. Highlights include Chris Senne, 120lbs with a 4 & 0 record, pinning all his opponents. Xander Mylek, 91lbs also went 4 & 0 and Kaden Dodson, 144lbs went 2 & 2. A great effort was made by the rest of the team. In most cases these were first time wrestlers going up against much older and more experienced competitors. Our Heroes worked hard and left everything on the mat. Coaches could not be more proud.
JH Boys Basketball
Team “A” holds a 4 in 1 record. Head Coach John Hill could not be more excited and proud of his team. These young men have put some serious points on the board and work well together as a team. Going in he knew this season would be a challenge to coaches, scholars and parents alike as we all strive to do our part to get the season within the constraints and restrictions of the covid era we are currently in. Together we have risen above the challenges and made our mark. Coach Hill works with all of his players, each week on a Team Theme. Each Theme is a cornerstone of his coaching philosophy. Team “B” and Head Coach Jason Schalow, have also made great strides this season. With not as many games played, they are making the most of what they have with a 2 in 1 record. Showing consistent growth and determination on the court, Coach Schalow is excited to see what the rest of the season holds. Coach Hill shares, “Abe Lincoln said if he had 6 hrs to chop down a tree he’d spend the first 4 hours sharpening the axe. We are sharpening the axe right now, and doing it through enforcing good habits. I am big on attention to detail and trying to “sharpen the axe” with everything we do in the Junior High basketball program.”
JH Girls Softball
Our J.H. Softball team remained undefeated with their recent win against Grande Innovation on Thursday, 20 to 6. Coach Zappa and his team of Lady Heroes continue to develop their talents as individual players as well as a team. They are such a fun and exciting team to watch and we will definitely be doing so as they continue their season with their eyes on the playoffs. They have a big week next week, be sure to send them good vibes! Let’s go Heroes!

Mr. Hamblin’s ginormous lemons are back! They are a cross between citrons and lemons, grown on a tree at Mr. Hamblin’s parents’ home in Gilbert. They are a yearly favorite around here for scholars and staff!
Mrs. Huff’s digital photography class is currently learning about the history of photography. In these photos they are learning about and getting to experience the photographic development process of Cyanotypes.

There is a $10 fee/year for SCHOLAR parking, and permits can be purchased through the school store at MySchoolBucks.com. You will need to login or create an account to access the store. See MySchoolBucks Post above for details on setting up an account. There is no fee for Staff Parking. Permits are non-transferable and there is a $10 Replacement Fee if the permit is lost or stolen.

Does your scholar require medication during the school day?
Our medication policy has changed this year. In cases where medication is required by a doctor to be given during school hours, Heritage Academy
officials administer prescription medication in the school setting in accordance with specific regulations that come from state law.
The following form needs to be completed by the doctor and delivered to the school by an adult with the medication.
Administering Meds Form 2020
Please note, medication to be given two (2) and/or three (3) times daily are to be given at home, unless specifically ordered by the doctor to be given at school. For prescription medication, there must be a written order from the physician stating the name of the medication, the dosage and the time it is to be administered and that it must be administered during school hours. There must be written permission from the parent/guardian for the medication to be administered at school. The medication must be in the original prescription container labeled by the pharmacist. Pharmacies will provide a duplicate container for school use upon request. No medications in envelopes, foil, or baggies will be accepted.
Pursuant to A.R.S. §§ 15-341(A)(35),(36), students who have been diagnosed with anaphylaxis and/or breathing disorders may carry and self-administer emergency medications while at school and at school- sponsored activities. The student’s name must be on the medication container and annual written documentation, which authorizes the possession and self-administration of the medication from the
student’s parent is required.
Uniforms will be required starting the first day back on campus September 9th!
