HELPFUL LINKS
Plan to leave home sooner in the morning to get your scholars to school on time. The closer you arrive to the start of school, the more traffic there will be. Scholars can be dropped off as early as 7:20. We do have a strict tardy policy and know that traffic can slow down starting at 7:40. Please plan accordingly.
On Dollars for Duds days, scholars are allowed to wear non-uniform clothing (INCLUDING JEANS) that meet Heritage Standards. $1.00 for shirt and $1.00 for pants/shorts. Dollars for Duds is optional and scholars do not have to participate. Money raised goes to support Scholar Council and the school activities and dances they support.
Costumes are permitted as long as they meet Heritage Standard. NO FULL MASKS, FACE PAINT, or EXTREME MAKE-UP.
Heritage Standard means: no sleeveless or midriff shirts; shorts must be 4″ from the middle of the knee and skirts must come to the middle of the knee: no cargo pants or shorts; no pants or shorts that are ripped or torn; no leggings; no PJs; and no inappropriate slogans or symbols on the clothing.
Boo Grams will be sold at lunch this week and delivered during 1B on Tuesday and Thursday.
Elena Holguin and our Heritage NJHS Chapter are holding a Donation Drive from October 18-28 for the Blavin Scholars Program, benefiting young adults who have grown out of foster care.
Items Needed: laundry soap, feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, tissues, toilet paper, chap-stick, self care products- face masks, bath bombs, etc. and non-perishable snacks- popcorn, chips, etc.

Heroes Athletics Fall Sports Update
Our varsity volleyball (13-2) and football (6-2) teams have finished successful regular seasons and are headed to the playoffs!
Volleyball beat D1 rivals Ridgeline Academy for their last game to prepare for their playoff run. Ridgeline had only one previous loss coming into the game. Our Heroes lost the first set but then made short work of the Eagles winning the next three sets (25-11, 25-14, 25-19). Our varsity volleyball team is led by senior, Kenzie Abercrombie and the high-level play of sophomore, Avory Oosthuizen.
Our JV girls volleyball (11-1) team dominated their way through the year as well. Their last game was against division foe and previously unbeaten Southwest Leadership Academy. There is no post-season play for the JV level so this game felt like the DII championship as the top two teams went head to head in the last game. Led by the season-long consistent play of Valerie Camacho (jr), Brooklyn Stoker (so), and Katelyn Kientzler (8th), the Heroes came out on top in straight sets.
Our Heroes football team is enjoying a 6 game win streak heading into a bye week before the playoffs. The Heroes are clicking offensively and defensively, having scored 228 points and only allowed 20 over those 6 games. The offense is led by sophomores Darius Brown, Courtney Palmer, and freshman Brendan Hunt. Defensively, last year’s first team all state standouts, Martreon Risper (jr) and Sam Coates (jr) are shutting down offenses once again with the help of Christian Mylek (so).
Our swim and cross-country teams are finishing up their seasons in the next couple weeks with their state meets. They have been bringing home trophies all season to add to our trophy case.
The girls volleyball team will host a playoff game at the Heroes Gym on Thursday (10/28), the time will be set early next week. Our football team will also host a first round playoff game on Friday 11/5. Look for updates to your emails and on our social media platforms.
JH Q1 Fall Sports Completes Season
All of our JH Q1 teams completed very successful seasons. Each of them headed to the playoffs. The JH Coed Soccer team brought home our first JH state championship with a big win in the state title game. Isabella Gomez (7th) and Tadashi Harris (6th) were awarded players of the game, while captain, JJ Turcott (8th), hoisted the championship trophy.
Heroes baseball went to the state championship game for the second year after winning the regional trophy. They added a state runner-up trophy to the case as well. Dylan Hopper (8th) pitched a great game in the final and Kai Klepfer (7th) hit an inside-the-park homerun.
The Heroes girls basketball team made vast improvements over last season, making it to the playoffs with a 10-0 record. Sixth grader, Zena Palmer led the team in scoring with the court presence of Tirza Cortes (8th) in support. All of our JH teams completed great first seasons. In Q2 we will see JH Boys Volleyball, Girls Softball, and Wrestling competing.

DON’T GET BLOCKED IN
SCHOLARS SHOULD NOT BE SIGNED OUT BETWEEN 2:30-3:40 PM
Need to schedule an appointment for your scholar during school hours? We ask that you try and schedule appointments on Fridays when the scholars are out of school. We know this isn’t always possible due to days and hours of operation, however due to our driveline, we are not able to sign scholars out after 2:30 pm. If you have an appointment for your scholar, we will need you to pick them up before 2:30 pm or wait until school is out to pick up your scholar.
REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR LUNCH!!
NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS ALLOWED
We have a large number of forgotten lunches that are being dropped off at campus. Please limit this as much as possible and remind your scholars before they leave the house, to grab their lunch. NO OUTSIDE FOOD (fast food or delivery) is allowed. The school does not provide a lunch if your scholar forgets.
All appointments including dentist, doctor, orthodontist, etc. should be scheduled on Fridays or after school. Fridays are the perfect day since we have it off and your scholar(s) will not miss class time.
PHOTO ID REQUIRED
TO SIGN-OUT YOUR SCHOLAR
If you need to sign-out your scholar, you will be required to show your ID and we will make a copy of it for our records.

DID YOU ORDER LUNCH?
HERE ARE A FEW REMINDERS:
- Communicate with your scholar if you ordered lunch for them so they know to pick it up.
- If a lunch is ordered and not picked up, it will be donated.
- If your scholar is absent, cancel the order or contact the school if you want it saved, otherwise it will be donated.
