Mr. Jimenez’s art class was invited to take part in a worldwide art competition organized by reEarth. The competition received over 400 entries by artists from 35 countries, and was juried by 11 international professional artists. This event was by invitation only, and although we did not win the grand prize, we had TWO scholars receive recognition in this INTERNATIONAL event!
Jordan Hammontree was selected for the “spotlight” recognition. His drawing was created with oil pastel, which is NOT an easy medium to work with. The way he captured the lighting and shadowing underwater was perfect, with small hidden elements.
Carleigh Mrosko was a FINALIST in the competition and was given the Honorable Mention! She created the beautiful acrylic painting of the underwater scene.
Both scholars will have their art pieces displayed in virtual and physical galleries in different countries, and will be showcased on the competition’s social media and websites! he competition had specific themes and specific elements that were looked for.
“I am extremely proud of our scholars and of our art program, and we can now officially say that the Heritage Academy Maricopa art class is internationally renowned! Our goal for next year? To WIN the competition.” – Mr. Jimenez
CONGRATULATIONS HEROES!!!
The Sadie Hawkins Sock Hop was a BLAST!! Thank you to Mrs. Hunt, HS Scholar Council, and staff for all of their hard work in putting together a wonderful evening! The decor, treats, and music were all AMAZING!!
The Econ Fair was a HUGE SUCCESS!! Mr. Hamblin’s 11th grade scholars earned in total around $9,000.00!! AWESOME JOB!!
This week, Mrs. Hilsinger’s Conceptual Science scholars had to build roller coasters with loops. Once they built a working roller coaster, they had to calculate the gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy.

Dear Heritage Academy families,
We’re going to France in March 2026, and all current 8th through 11 graders are invited! We will be exploring Paris and Southern France, including the French Riviera. This is open to all those that will be enrolled in high school at a Heritage Academy campus in the year 2026. Those enrolled in French language classes are especially encouraged to participate, however it is not a requirement for the experience.
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://bit.ly/3zgsdNF
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip (itinerary)
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable (overall cost)
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
Joseph Arnold
