FRENCH AND SPANISH CLASSES ARE REALLY COOKIN’
Mrs. Licon’s French classes made delicious crèpes with delectable toppings this week, while Spanish classes made authentic tortillas by hand! To finish off the week, scholars then brought in an authentic dish to present and share with the class. Scholars learned, ate, and had fun in the process!

8TH GRADE SCIENCE GARDEN PROJECT BLOOMS!

This year, Mrs. Oosthuizen’s 8th grade scholars rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty in our very first science class garden project — and what a success it was! From planting to harvesting, students took ownership of the process, learning firsthand about plant life cycles, ecosystems, and sustainable practices. They grew a vibrant variety of plants, including squash, cilantro, cabbage, sunflowers, daisies, lettuce, radishes, and even potatoes — just to name a few! image0-6 IMG_3097-1-scaled IMG_3987 Untitled2573_20250415110021-scaledIMG_4198-2-scaled Untitled2573_20250415110117-scaled Untitled2575_20250415110207-scaled

CEREAL DRIVE RESULTS ARE IN!

Cereal-Drive

Thank you to all who participated in this year’s cereal drive! Heritage Academy collected 34 boxes, contributing to a grand total of nearly 4,000 servings of cereal that will be donated to St. Mary’s Food Bank. While Leading Edge takes the cereal crown again this year with 477 boxes, we’re proud to be part of an effort that makes a real impact in our community. Let’s aim even higher next year — Go Heroes!

SPIRIT WEEK SHENANIGANS: A WEEK TO REMEMBER!

Our Spirit Week was packed with fun, creativity, and a whole lot of personality. One of the highlights was the hilarious role reversal on “Teachers Dress as Scholars and Scholars Dress as Teachers” Day—definitely a fan favorite! We also showed our team pride on Sports Jersey Day and kept it cozy with comfy PJs all day long. But the day that stole the show? “Anything But a Backpack Day” had everyone rolling with laughter as students came in with the most unexpected (and impractical!) items to carry their supplies. From microwaves to laundry baskets, the creativity was off the charts. Spirit Week was unforgettable, and we’re already counting down to next year!

Heroes-in-Action

Heroes On and Off the Field

On Monday, April 28, at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, the Canyon Athletic Association (CAA)
recognized 30 athletes from across the state of Arizona as recipients of their Champions of
Character Award. This award recognizes outstanding character, sportsmanship, and community
service among member school scholastic athletes.
