Our Mission Statement
Heritage Academy is dedicated to youth, their growth and development. The purpose of education is to build strong character. Strong character is reflected in strong families, strong communities and a strong nation.
While teaching the academic disciplines, Heritage Academy is dedicated to instilling into the minds and hearts of today’s youth a knowledge of and respect for the ideals and values of the great men and women of history, including those who founded the American nation.
As today’s rising generation gains an appreciation of these people of accomplishment, they will be ready to provide the selfless service to their fellow citizens and to their country which will be required in the coming years to assist in preserving America’s greatness. Heritage Academy exists to this end.
Dear Heritage Families,
We are thrilled to announce that after Spring Break, our campus will be returning to an 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. school day. Scholars are welcome to arrive beginning at 7:15 a.m and should be picked up by 4:00 p.m. We look forward to a reduction in 1st hour tardies.
According to ADE, there was a discrepancy with our bell schedule earlier in the year.
In the meantime, HB 2862 was passed that allows for more flexible instructional time. A few weeks ago, we received confirmation from the ADE that we could return to our original school day as a result of this new law.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we’ve navigated this journey with our bell schedules. We appreciate our Heritage community (teachers, scholars, families) and the way you adapt as we make required changes.
Attached is our new bell schedule.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Ellsworth
Principal, Maricopa Campus

Let’s go Heroes!
Have a fantastic Spring Break. Recharge and come back ready to battle!
Mrs. Huff’s swim class did safety training this week and learned CPR and rescue breathing.
Our high school drama scholars participated the Jungle Cruise of Doom Murder Mystery Dinner!
They traveled on a cruise through the Congo facing assassins, cannibals, and other nefarious individuals. They had the audience laughing in stitches. Mr. Ellsworth, Mrs. Obarr, and Ms. Fairbanks are so proud of the professionalism, hard work, and flexibility have they put into this production.
We also want to thank our community partners Sprouts Farmers Market for providing the sides for our meal. Sprouts not only provided great food and service but were generous enough to offer a discount in order to support our drama programs.
We also want to thank Riggs BBQ for the delicious pulled pork and BBQ sauce they provided at a reduced cost. We also want to give a big thank you to all the parents who have been supporting our drama program; those who cut fruit helped build sets, took tickets, made bulletin boards, and came and supported their scholars. It really does take a village and the Maricopa Heritage Drama program would not be possible without all of you!
Mr. Bunker and Mr. Berry put together a spectacular evening for our 8th-12th grade choirs, concert band, concert orchestra, and chamber orchestra. The scholars received a standing ovation for their performance of Bohemian Rhapsody. What a wonderful night of music!!!
Through the Month of March are character pillar we will focus on is being Knowledgeable. Being Knowledgeable has nothing to do with intellect, but instead the willingness to be life long learners as well as self-motivated learners. Our scholars this year have learned about many people who, though did not have access to formal education, became highly educated and were known for knowledge. We encourage our scholars to take opportunities to learn both in the classroom but also outside of it. Learning about leadership, life skills, as well as academics is essential to fulfill our mission statement of building Strong Character.
Our AMAZING PTO parents put together a delicious lunch for the teachers and staff on Thursday. A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the PTO team for always making us feel special and loved! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

Plan to leave home sooner in the morning to get your scholars to school on time. The closer you arrive to the start of school, the more traffic there will be. Scholars can be dropped off as early as 7:20. We do have a strict tardy policy and know that traffic can slow down starting at 7:40. Please plan accordingly.
All appointments including dentist, doctor, orthodontist, etc. should be scheduled on Fridays or after school. Fridays are the perfect day since we have it off and your scholar(s) will not miss class time.
