Our Mission Statement
Heritage Academy is dedicated to youth, their growth and development. The purpose of education is to build strong character. Strong character is reflected in strong families, strong communities and a strong nation.
While teaching the academic disciplines, Heritage Academy is dedicated to instilling into the minds and hearts of today’s youth a knowledge of and respect for the ideals and values of the great men and women of history, including those who founded the American nation.
As today’s rising generation gains an appreciation of these people of accomplishment, they will be ready to provide the selfless service to their fellow citizens and to their country which will be required in the coming years to assist in preserving America’s greatness. Would you like to make a difference in your child’s education? Consider running for a PTO leadership position or just join the board! We will be holding our Heritage Academy Maricopa PTO elections on Monday, May 15th, at 7 PM on campus. Positions available are President, Secretary, Historian, Sports Chair, Fundraising Chair & Performing Arts Chair. If you aren’t sure of volunteering in a leadership position, there are many other opportunities to help from lunch crew on a weekly basis or simply attending our monthly meetings (usually 2nd Tuesday each month) and offering fresh ideas. We would love to include you! Come check it out!
Parents, the PTO would like you to remember that as we approach the end of the year the snack bar has limited supplies. No more purchases to restock will be made for the rest of the school year. Please remind your scholars to pack a lunch if you are not using MyHotLunchbox for the day.

2023 Graduation
Mr. Daniels has over a decade of experience working in university enrollment management, where he developed his administration and leadership skills. However, his true passion lies in teaching, which he discovered during the last four years as an 8th-grade English teacher at Heritage Academy Maricopa. Building relationships with scholars and helping them grow in their English abilities brought him immense joy.
He is thrilled to extend his knowledge, abilities, and love for his scholars to the entire campus as assistant principal. His commitment to education is evident in his dedication to providing all students with the best possible learning experience over the last 15 years.
When not at work, Mr. Daniels spends most of his time with his wife and five children, engaging in service within his church and community. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as longboarding, disk golf, and ping pong when he gets the chance.

2023-2024 ENROLLMENT UPDATE
We are currently on a waitlist for all grade levels for the 2023-2024 school year!
We anticipate a continuation of increased enrollment, with many new families eager for their scholar to benefit from the quality academic environment at Heritage Academy.
EXISTING SCHOLARS – All current scholars will be reserved a spot for next year and no further re-enrollment action will be required at this time. If you are planning to withdraw for next year, please complete THE WITHDRAWAL REQUEST FORM.
NEW SCHOLARS – If you have friends or family members that do not currently attend Heritage but would like to join us next year…they will need to complete the full enrollment application. CLICK HERE TO ENROLL.

Mr. Ellsworth and the Drama Department put on The Festival of Scenes. It was a night of singing and laughter!
Mr. Bunker, Mrs. Wilson, and all the choir’s scholars put on a wonderful performance. They all sang beautiful pieces. We have some super talented scholars at our campus!
This year Mr. Jimenez conducted “Art at the Academy”, Heritage Maricopa’s first art exhibit. There was a great turn out and wonderful art professionally displayed from the many talented scholars we have. It was such an enjoyable event. There where opportunities to participate in silent auctions as well. Walking around the display area, it was wonderful to see the proud faces of scholars explaining their art to family and friends.

***GOLF***
State championships for high school and middle school were held in Prescott this year. Both teams finished middle of the pack. Congratulations to Ian Kennedy who placed 3rd in the JH boys individual event and Sophia Kennedy who placed 4th in the JH girls individual event. A fun and successful season was had by all. Everyone improved their scores at state this year.
***BASEBALL***
Baseball won the State Championship this week scoring 6 runs in the 6th inning. Three big hits in a row started off the inning by Ben James, Conrad Reichard and Leander Vale. The Heroes had some work to do in the 7th because the Cavaliers loaded the bases wiht no outs and we dwere down by three. Pitcher Conrad Reichard got a strike out, pop up and ground ball to first to win the game! This is our Baseball Heroes’ second championship. Leander Vale brought home the Player of the Game award for his 5 innings pitched and good work at the plate. Congratulations Heroes!
***SOFTBALL***
Our Varsity Heroes seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Heritage Academy Mesa. Two teams, Heritage Maricopa, and Heritage Mesa, both came to win and battled to the very last out. Our Lady Heroes went into the Championship game with an undefeated season and came out back-to-back defending Champions! Mesa jumped out to a 2 run lead in the first inning and added to the score in the third with two more runs. Maricopa came back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the third. Mesa added one in the fourth and one more in the sixth. This opened the lead 6-2. However, Maricopa dug deep, showing they had more fight left in them. They scored 2 runs in the sixth to bring the score 6-4. Mesa was held scoreless in the seventh. Maricopa rallied showing their true grit and scored 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh to win Back to-Back State Championships. Kenya Martin, sophomore, earned the victory on the rubber surrendering 6 runs on 7 hits, over 7 innings striking out 4. Maricopa tallied 9 hits in the game. Anderson, LaBounty, and Taylor each had two hits to lead the Heroes to victory. Anderson received the MVP player of the game. Congratulations on an amazing season.
***JH GIRLS SOCCER***
Our Heroes ranked third in the regular season. They have made it to their STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!! They play tomorrow night at Legacy Sports Park Stadium 5:45 PM. Good luck ladies. Congratulations on your successful season!!!

Wrestling has open mat on Fridays, in the gym. All are welcome to come try out the sport and see if they like it. We meet from 8 AM-10 AM except when an event is taking place in the gym.

SCHOLARS SHOULD NOT BE SIGNED OUT BETWEEN 2:30-3:30 PM
Need to schedule an appointment for your scholar during school hours? We ask that you try and schedule appointments on Fridays when the scholars are out of school. We know this isn’t always possible due to days and hours of operation, however due to our driveline, we are not able to sign scholars out after 2:30 pm. If you have an appointment for your scholar, we will need you to pick them up before 2:30 pm or wait until school is out to pick up your scholar.
For a person that describes herself as shy and introverted, the idea of a spotlight shining brightly on just you might seem overbearing. But for soon to be graduate and self-described shy gal Abigail Panter, that will be the case next Thursday night when she gets the solo spotlight at our annual spring dance showcase Wanderlust.
“I am shy,” admits Abigail. “I’m an introvert.” Many of her teachers simply call her quiet.
Shy, quiet, and introverted are not personality traits that would seem to go with spotlights and being the center of attention in such an expressive medium as dance, especially dance solos. Yet here she is.
Abigail, a 3-year member of dance department’s top tier Dance Company, had a solo spotlight in last winter’s dance showcase where she danced a stunningly captivating performance of “Found.” And the spotlight is heading her way again next Thursday night with her solo of “Sailboat.”
So how does she feel about this? She can’t wait!
Dance is one form of communication she feels comfortable with. “I’m introverted and not great at speaking interpersonally. But through the things I do like dance and art – I can communicate to people, and I hope people see what I am trying to project. It’s a message.”
What is the message? The message is that a quiet, shy girl can also be boldly confident. It shows that you do not need to talk or seek attention to express yourself or be noticed. She is a smart but humble person that sets ambitious goals and has a clear plan to achieve those goals. And all this comes across in the way she carries herself.
When you see Abigail dance, you are not seeing a different part of her. You are seeing the essence of her. An essence that is conveyed by actions and an overall attitude, not words. When you look at her artwork, you get the same message. It’s bold and ambitious, not on a surface level, but a deeper level – just like her.
The message Abigail sends is clear to anyone that looks her way. Whether you’re in the spotlight or not, you can always be a shining light for others to see. No center stage – or spotlight – needed.
Abigail Panter is a senior at Heritage Academy Maricopa. She has been a member of Dance Company for 3 years and is also an accomplished artist and writer. She also serves our community by teaching Sunday School at her dad’s local Grace Fellowship church. After graduating she will enroll at the University of Arizona to study Interior Design. Whatever she does, I know she will shine brightly.
John Hill is a dual enrollment English teacher at Heritage Academy Maricopa. He has watched Abigail shine on the dance stage, in his class, at the art gallery, at church, and in everything she does both in and out of the spotlight.
You can watch Abigail and the other amazing dance performers at the Heritage Academy Maricopa spring dance show Wanderlust. Shows are Thursday, May 18 @ 5 p.m. & 7 p.m.
DRIVELINE REMINDER!
PLEASE remember that 0ur driveline is being monitored closely this year. No one can park on the street outside of our campus before the driveline. Parents must park in our “cell phone lot” until our gates are open at 3:15. Our city and our neighbors need your cooperation.

REMINDERS
MySchoolBucks is our payment system for course fees and to make purchases through the school store.
To create your account go to MySchoolBucks.com and follow these instructions:
- Click “Sign Up Free”
- Follow the step by step instructions to add our school and your scholars to your account. Our district is Heritage Academy Inc.
- Click on “School Store” on the top menu bar for a list of options.
- If you click on “Store Home” it will take you to where you can purchase items like a parking permit, pay your PTO dues, or rent your choir robes.
- If you click on “School Invoices” this is where your current course fees and end of year school balances from last year will be listed. You will be able to make a payment right through this system!
It’s a brand new year to donate to ECA funds.

DID YOU ORDER LUNCH?
HERE ARE A FEW REMINDERS:
- Change your scholars grade level under your profile.
- Communicate with your scholar if you ordered lunch for them so they know to pick it up.
- If a lunch is ordered and not picked up during lunch time, it will be donated.
- If your scholar is absent, cancel the order or contact the front office if you want it saved by 10:00 am, otherwise it will be donated.
- If you want a friend to pick up your lunch, it must be communicated to the front office by 10:00 am so the records can be updated.
DRESS CODE REMINDERS
Khaki pants need to be cream, beige, or khaki in color (according to the chart below). The colors that are crossed out in red are not approved.
