HELPFUL LINKS

Happy New Year!!  Welcome back to school!  We are excited to have our scholars back on campus and learning!  We love watching all the growth we see throughout the year.  Each scholar has worked hard all year earning their good grades.

We know with the new semester there are a lot of questions in regards to schedules.  Schedule changes are only done for certain reasons only.

Mr. Halterman gets numerous requests this first week back.  Please be patient with him, and know he is working through one at a time.  We are a small school that offers a lot of electives.  This is not an easy schedule to manage.  Most scholars will not get their first choice since times and schedules don’t always match up.  We will do our best.

We have a lot to look forward to this semester!  We have games, plays, concerts, etc. throughout the semester.  Many of our scholars are involved in all of these activities and have academics on top of that.  Make sure they take their time to rest, be off of electronics and have some down time.  We love our talented scholars, and know it’s not easy to manage everything they want to do.

Thank you for being a part of our Heritage family.  We love our scholars.  We love what they work to become. We love how much they continue to teach us.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Ellsworth
Principal, Maricopa Campus

Heroes Athletics Sports Update

Happy New Year!

Our Varsity Wrestling Squad was busy over break.  With a limited team we crushed Imagine Superstition 39-12 and battled Heritage Gateway for a 36-29 victory.  Coach Hettinger was extremely pleased as our wrestlers fought through illness and injury to take 5th at the Rams Ruckus Wrestling Tournament.  Though we were short on wrestlers, Jaxson Howell, Kaden Dodson, and Dane Adams brought home the Bronze; Christian Fonner won Silver; and Senior Bryson Patenge brought home the Gold.  Congratulation’s gentlemen!  On Saturday our wrestlers will host their first tournament.  The first match starts at 8:00 a.m. and they run throughout the day. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for scholars. We invite you to come out and support our amazing young men as they battle on our brand new, beautiful new mats!

Varsity Boys Basketball took the win against BASIS Scottsdale. Coach Rowan is very proud of the Varsity group.  “We struggled early on, but never broke team mentality to rise above.”  Down 15 points most of the game we took the lead in the 4th quarter and finished with a defensive stop.  Fantastic job Heroes!

Varsity Girls Basketball is on fire! Coach Comerford is excited for his team’s performance and drive. Overall, 4-1 and ranked #2 they had the week off from games but put in the work to continue their momentum as they head into next week with their hearts set on bringing home the big “W”.

Our girls Tennis team has a match on Saturday against BASIS Mesa.  First serve is at 2:00 p.m. Good luck ladies!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Safety-First-scaled

As we drop off and pick up scholars at school, we need to respect our neighbors.  They have been reporting to law enforcement the speeding in the neighborhood, blocking driveways and blowing through stop signs.  All traffic laws should be obeyed on and off campus.

Arrive-Early

Plan to leave home sooner in the morning to get your scholars to school on time.  The closer you arrive to the start of school, the more traffic there will be.  Scholars can be dropped off as early as 7:20.  We do have a strict tardy policy and know that traffic can slow down starting at 7:40.  Please plan accordingly.

REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR LUNCH!!
NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS ALLOWED

No-Outside-Food

We have a large number of forgotten lunches that are being dropped off at campus.  Please limit this as much as possible and remind your scholars before they leave the house, to grab their lunch.  NO OUTSIDE FOOD (fast food or delivery) is allowed.  The school does not provide a lunch if your scholar forgets.

Friday-Appointments
All appointments including dentist, doctor, orthodontist, etc. should be scheduled on Fridays or after school.  Fridays are the perfect day since we have it off and your scholar(s) will not miss class time.

PHOTO ID REQUIRED

TO SIGN-OUT YOUR SCHOLAR

PHOTO-IDIf you need to sign-out your scholar, you will be required to show your ID and we will make a copy of it for our records.

  • Scholars who are sick (not with Covid) may return back to school when they have been symptom free for 24 hours.

  • If scholars test positive for Covid, they should quarantine for 10 days.
