SCHOLAR COUNCIL PRESENTS…DOLLARS FOR DUDS

THURSDAY, AUGUST 28th

Dollars-for-Duds

On Dollars for Duds days, scholars are allowed to wear non-uniform clothing (INCLUDING JEANS) that meet Heritage Standards.  $1.00 for shirt and $1.00 for pants/shorts. No change smaller than a quarter will be accepted. Wristbands purchased for participation must be worn on your scholar’s wrist throughout the day.  Dollars for Duds is optional, and scholars do not have to participate. Money raised goes to support Scholar Council and the school activities and dances they support.

Heritage Standard means: no sleeveless or midriff shirts; shorts must be 4″ from the middle of the knee and skirts must come to the middle of the knee; no pants or shorts that are ripped, torn or frayed; no leggings; no inappropriate slogans or symbols on the clothing; and NO PAJAMAS, SLIPPERS or CROCS.

Scholar Council and school staff reserve the right to send scholars to the office for any dress code issues. Wristbands are available in the front office if your scholar arrives late.

We are having Homecoming Court this year!

This is for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors only. There will be a Duke, Duchess, Prince, Princess, King, and Queen. Interest forms are due Monday, September 8th! Campaigning will be allowed online only the week of September 15th after receiving an email confirming that you are on the court. Students will vote on the court finalists closer to homecoming.

GRAND PRIX GLAM

Date: Saturday, September 20th
Time: 7pm-10pm in the gym
Ticket Prices: 
~ August 18th – August 29th: $10 for singles; $15 for couples
~ September 3rd – September 11th: $15 for singles; $25 for couples
~ September 15th – September 18th: $20 for singles; $30 for couples
~ At dance: $30 per person, no couples discount at the door
*Tickets are being sold at high school lunch, so make sure your scholar comes to school with money to buy the tickets. They will be sold at the door, but they will be the most expensive prices at the dance.*
Guest Passes:
Guest passes can be picked up in the front office. Scholars must bring the passes, fully filled out with their guest’s id to the dance to be let in. Guests must follow Heritage Academy dress code standards in order to be allowed into the dance. Guests need to be in high school, no graduated or middle school students allowed.

Dress code:

Skirts and slits must go to the middle of the knee in the front and back while sitting and standing. Any slits must be fully sewn or taped together with no holes between. Heels cannot be stilettos in order to protect the gym floor and must have a back strap. Shoulders cannot show and must be covered at all times by a jacket that does not come off for the entirety of the dance. Shawls and any other sheer material is not allowed as coverups and will not be accepted to enter the dance. Necklines cannot reveal cleavage and the back of dresses must cover up to the bra line. No revealing midrifts. All other Heritage Standards apply. Teachers at the dance reserve the right to check dress code, have scholars make adjustments accordingly, or send them home. Maya Zappa, MVP of the state championship game and a key force behind her team’s title run, has officially committed to play Division I softball at Norfolk State University. With her tuition and fees fully covered by an athletic scholarship, Maya becomes the first-ever Division I commit in Heritage Academy Maricopa history. Known for her leadership, clutch play, and relentless work ethic, Maya is paving the way for future athletes at Heritage Academy Maricopa.

Athletic Documents and Fees

All athletes need to turn in the ATHLETIC PACKET and current PHYSICAL and have their fees paid before they are eligible to compete. This is for any scholar on a competitive team. 

Fall Sports Schedule

Please check out the new CAA hosting site for our current athletic schedule. It is at GoBound. You can view team rosters individually or the weekly calendar as a whole. All athletes and families should also be on your team’s TeamReach account. Let your coach know if you need the code.

Hero Sponsorship Opportunities

We are looking for sponsors to help with team athletic costs. If you, or someone you know, would like to be a Hero Sponsor, please reach out to your coach or to the Athletic Director, Jeff Miller (jeffrey.miller@heritageacademyaz.com).

We offer many different sponsorship opportunities, from banner ads, scoreboard signage, and on our annual senior banners. We have a big senior class this year, including 20 in the fall season alone. This senior class has scholars that started in 6th grade with Heritage Maricopa in Elements at Ak-Chin Circle.
