Our Mission Statement
Heritage Academy is dedicated to youth, their growth and development. The purpose of education is to build strong character. Strong character is reflected in strong families, strong communities and a strong nation.
While teaching the academic disciplines, Heritage Academy is dedicated to instilling into the minds and hearts of today’s youth a knowledge of and respect for the ideals and values of the great men and women of history, including those who founded the American nation.
As today’s rising generation gains an appreciation of these people of accomplishment, they will be ready to provide the selfless service to their fellow citizens and to their country which will be required in the coming years to assist in preserving America’s greatness. Heritage Academy exists to this end.
Hello Heritage Families,
We are excited about the end of the year being just around the corner. We appreciate each and every one of you that has encouraged your scholar, helped with homework, given rides, packed lunches, volunteered at school and simply made it so the school year runs smoothly. Thank you! We see your efforts and sincerely appreciate them. It’s the time of year we get to recognize scholars for their many accomplishments.
We have end of the year banquets, performances, games, dances and activities. We know many of our scholars are involved in more than one of these events. We try to schedule with as little conflict as possible, but we know it’s not always easy. We hope you read this newsletter each week as it will provide you with all necessary dates.
As our awards ceremony is around the corner, we want to let everyone know how this works. Our last day of school will be a partial day for each scholar. Our Junior High Awards Ceremony (for grades 6-8) will be from 8:00-9:30 am in our gym. This will include 8th grade promotion where each scholar will receive their certificate for completing the 8th grade. Due to space, we are not able to have parents attend our awards ceremonies, so we will livestream for families. Our high school scholars will be celebrated from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. Scholars should plan to be on campus only for their awards ceremony.
In addition we want to make parents and guardians aware that we do give an honor roll certificate. The Honor Roll at Heritage Maricopa is 3.75 and above. Please understand we try diligently to not make any mistakes on any of our awards. If, for any reason, you feel your scholar deserved an award that was not presented please be courteous, kind and let us know. We will gladly look into any issue we may have missed.
Heritage Academy Maricopa received a GOLD SCHOOL DESIGNATION from the Table Advisory Committee for AZ Arts Education’s Exemplary Arts School Program. We received the award for providing excellent arts education programs and access to multiple artistic disciplines, demonstrating robust student participation in programs, and striving to grow arts enrollment in the previous year.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
A HUGE THANK YOU to MS. ALLEN and our AMAZING SCHOLAR COUNCIL for the fun ice cream social event. Scholars had a blast playing games, hanging out, and eating yummy ice cream!
Mr. Lawless, Ms. Titus, and the Advanced JH Drama class put on a spectacular performance of Peter and Wendy last weekend. Many thanks to Mrs. O’Barr, Kathy Miller, Nate Robinson, and the many volunteers who helped make the show possible. It was a blast!!
Through the Month of April, the character pillar we will focus on is being PATIENT. Be PATIENT with things that are hard or uncomfortable. Be PATIENT with ourselves. Be PATIENT with those around us.
