NEXT WEEK IS FINALS WEEK
12/16 through 12/19
Parents, make sure your scholars are prepared to stay in school until 12/19. All scholars are required to take their final exams for each class during finals week. There will not be a test make-up after break, so if your scholar misses their final during this week, they will receive a zero.
1. Review your study notes.
Use the night before for simple revision. Don’t look at anything new, review the study notes you have created during your study sessions over the past few days.
Work your way through your notes, covering topics one by one to ensure you understand the material. If you don’t, go back and find clarity.
Late night cram sessions aren’t a very effective way to study. It may seem like you’re making the most of your time by studying until the last minute, but by not giving your brain a chance to rest you’ll have a harder time remembering the information you studied.
4. Eat a good healthy dinner.
Giving your mind the brain power it needs is important if you want to do well on your test. That means eating a good meal the night before.
Gather all the materials you’ll need for your test the next day. Make sure you have extra pens, pencils, erasers, and any tools you need (like a ruler or calculator). Pack everything into your backpack THE NIGHT BEFORE.
After spending time reviewing for your test, get some exercise by going outside for a short walk or a bike ride. Getting a little bit of exercise will help reduce any stress you are feeling and recharge your brain.
Take some time before bed to put away your study notes and relax. Read a book, write in a journal, or talk to your family. PUT DOWN THE ELECTRONICS. This will help you wind down before bed, making it easier to get a good night’s sleep.
One of the most important things the night before a test is to get a full night’s sleep so your brain can remember what you’ve studied. Make sure you go to bed at a decent time so you can wake up on test day feeling refreshed and well-rested.
Set your alarm so you don’t oversleep the morning of your test. DO NOT BE TARDY. Give yourself some extra time in the morning to eat a healthy breakfast and get ready for the day without feeling rushed.
You’ll find your scholar’s teachers in the front office, all dressed up and ready for Santa!!

We had our Winter Sports Pep Assembly on Tuesday and it was FANTASTIC!! Our Winter Sport scholar athletes were introduced for Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball, Corn Hole, and Wrestling! Scholar Council also introduced a new fun game where your team had to get the air mattress down the length of the court and the team to do it first wins! In the class race, our FRESHMEN ended up taking the win!
THANK YOU to MRS. HUNT and our HS SCHOLAR COUNCIL!
IT WAS A BLAST!!
The Dance Department had the opportunity to represent our school at the Scottsdale Community College Winter Dance Show. These dancers’ performance and the creative choreography by Dexton Bushman was stunning, and we couldn’t be more proud of how they performed as well as represented our school.
This fantastic achievement, showcased these scholars hard work and passion and shined a light on the success of the Heritage Dance Program. Congratulations again to Dexton and his large group of dancers for this well-deserved recognition!
All of the dance classes were busy preparing for their “OUTTA THIS WORLD” Recital. Here are a few pictures from Dress Rehearsal and more to come from the recital in the next newsletter!
Big thank you to Miss Ashley for always supporting and encouraging our Dancers to shoot for the stars!

Dear Heritage Academy families,
We’re going to France in March 2026, and all current 8th through 11 graders are invited! We will be exploring Paris and Southern France, including the French Riviera. This is open to all those that will be enrolled in high school at a Heritage Academy campus in the year 2026. Those enrolled in French language classes are especially encouraged to participate, however it is not a requirement for the experience.
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://bit.ly/3zgsdNF
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip (itinerary)
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable (overall cost)
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
Joseph Arnold
