Our Mission Statement
Heritage Academy is dedicated to youth, their growth and development. The purpose of education is to build strong character. Strong character is reflected in strong families, strong communities and a strong nation.
While teaching the academic disciplines, Heritage Academy is dedicated to instilling into the minds and hearts of today’s youth a knowledge of and respect for the ideals and values of the great men and women of history, including those who founded the American nation.
As today’s rising generation gains an appreciation of these people of accomplishment, they will be ready to provide the selfless service to their fellow citizens and to their country which will be required in the coming years to assist in preserving America’s greatness. Heritage Academy exists to this end.
A message from our Principal
Welcome to our 2023-2024 school year! We are excited to see our scholars back on campus! Our theme this year is United We Stand. We want our staff, scholars, and parents to all be united in providing your children with the best educational experience at Heritage.
The beginning of the year is a good time to review Heritage standards with your scholars. This will help avoid any confusion with expectations while at school. For families new to Heritage, you can find most information to review in your packet from orientation. However, our full handbook can be found on our website hamaricopa.com.
Also, our driveline is being monitored closely again this year. Please review the driveline maps we will send out. As a reminder, no one can park on the street outside of our campus before the driveline. Parents must park in our “cell phone lot” until we let cars in at 3:15. Feel free to stay in the “cell phone lot” and have your scholars walk out to you, but please do not park in the church parking lot or the pool parking lot. Let’s be united in being good neighbors to our community by doing our part to follow these procedures to help things run as smoothly, but more importantly, as safely as possible. Our staff, city, and neighbors are excited about your cooperation.
Thank you for having your family at Heritage. We love our scholars and look forward to working with them all year. We have a lot of exciting things happening this year and look forward to sharing it with you.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Titus

These physicals are ‘Touchless’ and conducted in the gym. They are $35 and are scheduled for August 1st and 3rd.

Our creative heroes hit the ground running this week with day ONE of drawing, and after just one lesson and one class period, they put their newly learned techniques with graphite pencil to work and created amazing eyeballs! I wanted to share these with you because I am so proud of the drawings they have produced already, and this is only day ONE… after just ONE lesson! Imagine the artwork they will be creating after one semester! Here are ten random drawings from A day and B day. Hope you enjoy them! – Mr. Jimenez
The new Leadership class with Master Feiles spent time creating and delivering their “elevator pitch”, a 30-second business networking tool to help with productive communication.
Shout out to the BEST PTO!!! Not only did they serve teachers lunch, but they have been helping at school making sure the first few days were smooth. We can’t thank them enough!
Throughout the year in 7th grade History, scholars will be using primary sources, citing evidence and organizing that evidence in a logical sequence to determine cause and effect of historical events. To begin learning how to do all of this, the scholars in Ms. Schmidgall’s 7th grade History Class had to
determine the guilt or innocence of good old SpongeBob SquarePants himself. The scholars read eyewitness testimony, crime scene testimony, and suspect evidence for textual evidence to either find SpongeBob guilty or innocent. The scholars did a fantastic job with citing evidence, using primary sources and evaluating points of view. A trial was held with both the prosecution and defense presenting their findings. It was a relief to know that in the majority of classes, SpongeBob was found to be not guilty!!
Lunchtime! Our first week was a HOT one out there, but these scholars look like they are still enjoying themselves. Do you spy jackets!?

REMINDERS
Morning Driveline opens at 7:15 a.m. Please don’t drop your scholar(s) off before then.
Vehicles enter the property through the main (west) gate in single file and split into two lanes as they circle around the property. The speed limit on campus is 5 mph. See attached MAP. Teachers will be on duty helping to guide traffic. Be respectful of these individuals and follow their directions.
DO NOT drop scholars off at the front of the school, or anywhere else than the established drop-off area.
The drop-off area is configured with three lanes: a left, right, and center lane. The left and right lanes are for dropping off scholars, and the center lane is for exiting vehicle traffic only. Scholars MUST exit their vehicle ONLY on the side of the vehicle that is adjacent to the sidewalk on the left or right side of the drop-off lanes, and you should plan accordingly prior to entering the driveline. Failure to observe this critical safety protocol may result in disciplinary action for both scholar and driver. As vehicles exit the drop-off area, they merge back into single-file, continue around the northern end of the property and leave the property through the main gate.
Scholars who are parking their vehicle on campus for the day may only park in the designated areas in the northeastern corner of the property, and must have a parking permit prominently displayed in the front windshield. Short-term parking for visitors to campus is in the designated parking area adjacent to the main gate. Visitors that need to leave while the driveline is in progress must merge into the driveline and follow the driveline pattern to exit campus as described above.
**Afternoon Driveline opens at 3:15 p.m. Vehicles are NOT allowed to park and wait in the street outside of our gate prior to 3:15 p.m.
**Afternoon driveline does not open until 3:15 p.m. Vehicles that arrive earlier than 3:15 are not permitted to line up in the street outside of our gate prior to 3:15 p.m. and can park and wait in the gravel “Cell Phone” parking lot located on the west side of Our Lady of Grace Parrish until 3:15 p.m. Drivers of vehicles that disregard this protocol will be given a verbal warning and redirected to the gravel parking area. Persistent disregard of this protocol will result in a referral to the Maricopa Police Department.
The afternoon driveline is very similar to the morning driveline. Vehicles enter the property through the main (west) gate in single file and split into two lanes as they circle around the property. The speed limit on campus is 5 mph.
Scholars being picked up are only permitted to enter their vehicle in the designated drop-off area. DO NOT pick up scholars at the front of the school, or anywhere else than the established pick-up area.
Please be patient our first few days as we get used to all being back on campus. Remember if we all do our part to help keep up these protocols, the smoother our driveline will be. United We Stand!
